Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Beats Quad Cities Christian for Their Fifth Straight Victory

It was a Battle of the Birds when Faith Christian duked it out withQuad Cities Christian on Tuesday. The Faith Christian Falcons walked away with a 60-50 victory over the Quad Cities Christian Eagles. The win was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on five straight.

Faith Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Schuler, who went 9 of 21 on his way to 19 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. The matchup was Schuler's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Fassler, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tanner Garant, who posted 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Garant has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Andrew Madden was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Faith Christian pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Quad Cities Christian, they moved to 11-2 with that defeat, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.

Faith Christian and Quad Cities Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Faith Christian (ranked 162nd) will meet Unity Christian (ranked 577th) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Faith Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.7 points per game this season. Similarly, Quad Cities Christian (ranked 155th) will meet Tri-State Christian (ranked 554th) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
