Basketball Recap: Cheshire Falls Despite Big Games from Sydney Hale and Eva Catalanotto

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cheshire can now relate to. They took a 47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mercy Tigers on Friday. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Cheshire had strong showings from Eva Catalanotto, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Sydney Hale, who went 6-for-13 en route to 16 points. The dominant performance also gave Hale a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%).

Cheshire's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Mercy, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Coming up, Cheshire will square off against Stratford at 2:30 p.m. on March 1st. As for Mercy, they have already played their next matchup, a 48-38 defeat against Hamden on the 23rd.
