Basketball Recap: Harmony Area Takes a Loss

Harmony Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a hard 62-44 fall against the Blacklick Valley Vikings. The Owls were down 47-25 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Blacklick Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eli Sheesley led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Sheesley has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Greg Schilling, who went 8 of 15 en route to 22 points.

Harmony Area's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Blacklick Valley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-5.

Harmony Area will be playing in front of their home fans against Curwensville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Curwensville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season. As for Blacklick Valley, they will venture away from home to take on Shanksville Stonycreek at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
