Football Game Preview: Hanahan Hawks vs. Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks

Hanahan hasn't had much luck against Oceanside Collegiate Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Landsharks at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Hanahan didn't have too much trouble with Andrews as they won 36-22. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Hanahan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaiah Snodgrass, who rushed for 123 yards and a pair of scores. Snodgrass is becoming a predictor of the Hawks' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Grayson Mathes, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Oceanside Collegiate Academy got themselves on the board against Atlantic Collegiate Academy on Friday, but Atlantic Collegiate Academy never followed suit. They really took it to the Armada for the full four quarters, racking up a 47-0 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Landsharks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Armada are ranked 222nd).

Hanahan better keep an eye on Zakhi Muncey. He was instrumental in Oceanside Collegiate Academy's win, rushing for 79 yards and two TDs on only seven carries, while also picking up 43 receiving yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Aiden Manavian, who threw for 222 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt.

The win got Hanahan back to even at 3-3. As for Oceanside Collegiate Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Hanahan was dealt a bruising 49-7 loss at the hands of Oceanside Collegiate Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Hawks were down 28-7.
