Basketball Recap: Seagoville Takes a Loss

Seagoville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 52-27 to the North Mesquite Stallions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dragons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-33 back in December of 2024.

North Mesquite found their leader in freshman Syniyah Grigsby, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Grigsby has scored at least a third of North Mesquite's points. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Grigsby, who posted seven points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Seagoville's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-16. As for North Mesquite, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-13.

Seagoville will venture away from home to take on Samuell at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Mesquite, they will welcome Wilson at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
