Volleyball Game Preview: Whiteland Warriors vs. Columbus East Olympians

The Whiteland Warriors will take on the Columbus East Olympians at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Whiteland is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since April 29th on Thursday. They came up short against Jeffersonville, falling 3-0. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Whiteland was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-20, 25-14.

Despite the defeat, Whiteland saw an underclassman step up: freshman Joseph Ngun had 15 digs and two aces. Ngun has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more digs the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Columbus East waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 2-0.

Columbus East easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-20.

Whiteland's loss dropped their record down to 8-21. As for Columbus East, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-15.

Whiteland couldn't quite get it done against Columbus East in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 3-1. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
