O'Connell took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They really took it to the Humble Christian Cougars for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-45 win. The Buccaneers are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 15 straight dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Humble Christian lost, don't look at Devin Simpson. Despite the final result, he posted 23 points. Pierce Starlard was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Humble Christian now has a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, O'Connell is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Lutheran South Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Humble Christian, they will face off against Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
