Soccer Game Preview: Damien vs. Los Osos

Damien hasn't had much luck against Los Osos recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Damien Spartans will look to defend their home pitch against the Los Osos Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. Los Osos took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Damien, who comes in off a win.

Damien played in conference for the first time on Wednesday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Chino Hills. The win was all the more spectacular given the Spartans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 572nd, while the Huskies are ranked 41st).

Meanwhile, Los Osos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Upland.

Los Osos' loss dropped their record down to 3-6-3. As for Damien, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8-2.
