Basketball Recap: Lakeside Piles Up the Points Against Workman

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakeside). They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat the Workman Lobos 82-36. The Lancers pushed the score to 67-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lobos had no chance of recovering from.

Leading Lakeside to victory were Justin Jones and Jack Jones. Justin shot 50% from the field en route to 20 points and six boards, while Jack posted ten points in addition to eight assists and five steals. Justin is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Alvarez, who put up 11 points and seven rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Lakeside was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Lakeside now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Workman, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Lakeside has already played their next game, a 74-47 loss against Sunny Hills on the 29th. As for Workman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sonora at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lobos will need to watch out since the Raiders have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
