Softball Preview: North Marion Huskies vs. East Fairmont Bees

The North Marion Huskies will face off against the East Fairmont Bees at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. North Marion will be strutting in after a victory while East Fairmont will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, North Marion made easy work of Fairmont Senior and carried off a 12-2 win. The Huskies have beaten the Polar Bears the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Polar Bears has come to flipping the script.

Reagan Ash was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinlee Hess, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

North Marion was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairmont Senior only posted a batting average of .190.

Meanwhile, East Fairmont came up short against Buckhannon-Upshur on Friday, falling 14-5. The loss continues a trend for the Bees in their meetings with the Buccaneers: they've now lost four in a row.

East Fairmont saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilly Boylen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

The victory got North Marion back to even at 1-1. As for East Fairmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
