Softball Recap: Apollo Comes Up Short

Apollo suffered their closest defeat since April 18, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Hancock County Hornets by a score of 7-5. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Arianna Ramirez was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. She also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Hall, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Apollo dropped their record down to 6-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Hancock County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Coming up, Apollo will be playing at home against Tecumseh at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hancock County, they will head out to face off against South Spencer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
