Soccer Recap: Wren Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southside, Wren was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Palmetto Mustangs get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Given Wren's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Palmetto are ranked 121st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wren has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those six contests. As for Palmetto, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wren will head out to take on Westside at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Palmetto, they will venture away from home to square off against Fountain Inn at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fountain Inn will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Palmetto surely won't give up without a fight.
