Soccer Game Preview: Warren vs. Sotomayor

The Warren Warriors will face off against the Sotomayor WILDCATS at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warren is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Warren's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Taft by a score of 2-0. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Raiders are ranked 538th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kam Guerra was the driving force of Warren's attack as he scored both of Warren's goals, bringing his season total up to five goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sotomayor). They walked away with a 4-2 victory over Taft on Wednesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the WILDCATS considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Warren has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season. As for Sotomayor, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

Warren skirted past Sotomayor 2-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Does Warren have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sotomayor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
