Basketball Recap: Clearbrook-Gonvick Wins Going Away Against Red Lake

Clearbrook-Gonvick hadn't done well against Red Lake recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears enjoyed a cozy 86-71 win over the Red Lake Warriors. The game was the first time the Bears have beaten the Warriors on their court since February 23, 2021.

Red Lake's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyrone Beaulieu Jr, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 15 points along with eight boards and three steals. Beaulieu Jr is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 17 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Roy, who posted 20 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Clearbrook-Gonvick and bumps their season record up to 11-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.5 points over those games. As for Red Lake, they dropped their record down to 12-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
