Baseball Game Preview: Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights vs. Life Christian Academy Eagles

The Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Life Christian Academy Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Thursday, Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot didn't have quite enough to beat Kenston Forest and fell 13-12. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nathan Danburg made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Hamner, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Life Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kenston Forest.

Life Christian Academy also got a good showing from JJ Jimenez, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Jimenez hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March.

On the hitting side, Brandon Dorin stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Noah Whitney was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Life Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Life Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts.
