He has become a key player for Gaylesville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 3-7 otherwise. Allmond was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Landon Chumbler was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jared Butts, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two RBI.
Pennington's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Gaylesville, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
Gaylesville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pennington hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321.
