            Softball Recap: Goodrich Martians vs. Midland Chemics        
        
		
        
        
            Goodrich had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Midland Chemics  a   3-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  11-1  on Thursday.
The result came thanks to  Abby Stefanski's shutout, as she gave up just seven  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Jayden Gohs was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alisyn Raether, who  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.

Goodrich's win was  their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 10-1. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Midland,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-6.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goodrich will host Lake Fenton  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7  runs per game  this season, so the Martians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Midland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bay City Western  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Chemics' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 6.2  runs per game this season.
