Softball Recap: Franklin Gets the Win

Franklin had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Madison on Friday. The Panthers never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Kendall Rumans was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Ashlyn McConnell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Franklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison only posted a batting average of .062.

Franklin now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Madison, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Franklin will square off against McDowell at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Madison, they will challenge Avery County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
