Volleyball Recap: Cornerstone Family Comes Up Short

Cornerstone Family lost against Blue Ridge Christian back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Saints fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-2.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Cornerstone Family sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-20, 13-25, 25-19, 24-26, 15-11.

Molly Riddle paced Cornerstone Family's offense, picking up four kills. Riddle were helped by Abby Anderson and Brooke Manning, who contributed three assists each. Riddle was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Cornerstone Family dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Blue Ridge Christian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cornerstone Family is set to face off against their familiar foe Whitefield Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Blue Ridge Christian will square off against rival St. Joseph D at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
