Softball Game Preview: Souhegan Sabers vs. Milford Spartans

The Souhegan Sabers will head out on the road to take on the Milford Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Souhegan didn't have quite enough to beat Hollis-Brookline and fell 9-8. The Sabers have struggled against the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Milford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Hanover on Wednesday as they made off with a 20-10 win. Considering the Spartans have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Souhegan's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Milford, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.

Souhegan was able to grind out a solid win over Milford when the teams last played back in April, winning 12-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sabers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
