Maple Shade came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Palmyra Panthers, falling 12-4. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Maple Shade got a massive performance out of Haylee Gaidecksi, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Gaidecksi has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madeline Sylvia, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Maple Shade's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for Palmyra, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

When Maple Shade and Palmyra next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Wildcats will try to stop Medford Tech's six-game winning streak when they meet at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Palmyra will challenge Overbrook and their four-game winning streak at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
