Basketball Recap: Andover Central Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Andover Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 55-49 W against the Salina Central Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-31 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Andover Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kelsey Barscewski, who posted 14 points. Taylin Tabor was another key player, putting up 14 points and three steals.

Andover Central's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Salina Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

Andover Central and Salina Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings. Andover Central (ranked 95th) will meet Andover (ranked 14th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Salina Central will take on Arkansas City on Friday down 119 places (158 vs. 39).
