Basketball Recap: Southwest Patriots vs. Academy for Classical Education Gryphons
Southwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 45-24 to the Academy for Classical Education Gryphons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-21 back in January.
Despite the defeat, Southwest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jamiriah Newsome went 6 of 10 on her way to 13 points.
Academy for Classical Education's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sara Rhett Farmer led the charge by putting up 12 points and four steals.
