The Jasper County Hurricanes will venture away from home to square off against the Putnam County War Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jasper County will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Jasper County barely beat Social Circle the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hurricanes claimed a resounding 42-7 victory over the Redskins. Considering the Hurricanes have won five matchups by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jasper County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JaMarkus Thomas, who rushed for 144 yards on only 14 carries, and also threw for 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes. Those 144 rushing yards gave Thomas a new career-high. Chance Ross was another key back, rushing for 135 yards and two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jasper County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 376 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Putnam County's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 25-14 to Lamar County. The defeat continues a trend for the War Eagles in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.
Although Putnam County took the loss, they still got scores from Brandon Jackson and Omarion Butts.
Jasper County's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Putnam County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Jasper County has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 368 total yards per game. It's a different story for Putnam County, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 234.6 total yards. Will Jasper County be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the War Eagles flip the script?
Jasper County couldn't quite get it done against Putnam County in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 21-14. Thankfully for the Hurricanes, Rashod Daniel (who rushed for 135 yards and one score while picking up 8.4 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
