Soccer Game Preview: East Aurora vs. Starpoint

The East Aurora Blue Devils will take on the Starpoint Spartans at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. East Aurora will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

East Aurora proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by five) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a goal and slipped past Lackawanna 2-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering East Aurora's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked third, while Lackawanna are ranked 43rd).

Meanwhile, Starpoint fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Lafayette on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Generals by a score of 2-1.

East Aurora's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Starpoint, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

East Aurora took their win against Starpoint in their previous matchup last Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
