West Branch lost to Hubbard back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Warriors came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
West Branch was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-12, 23-25, 25-16.
Madilyn Hoopes paced West Branch's offense, picking up 15 kills. Hoopes got some help from Elly Biskup and her 17 assists. Kendelle Hoopes controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Despite the defeat, Hubbard had strong showings from Emma TEtrick, who had 20 digs and two aces, and HaleigH Taylor, who had 15 digs. TeTrick has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last five times she's played.
West Branch's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Hubbard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.
Coming up, after both having extra time off, West Branch and Streetsboro will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for Hubbard, they will face off against Salem at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
