Basketball Game Preview: Colleton County Cougars vs. Bluffton Bobcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Colleton County Cougars challenge the Bluffton Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, it was close, but Colleton County sidestepped Beaufort for a 60-58 win. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by exactly two points.

Meanwhile, Bluffton waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Seahawks by a score of 54-42.

Colleton County better keep an eye on Harrison Skinner. He was instrumental in Bluffton's win, going 6 of 14 en route to 21 points and four steals. The contest was Skinner's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamari Manning, who posted 13 points.

Bluffton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Bluffton pushed their record up to 18-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.8 points. As for Colleton County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10.

Colleton County was dealt a bruising 63-30 loss at the hands of Bluffton in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Skinner, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 18 points in addition to seven assists and six steals. Now that Colleton County knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
