Northeast had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Lourdes Academy, posting a 71-28 win. The Hurricanes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 contests by 25 points or more this season.

Northeast was led to victory by Jazmine Jones and Nykeria Flowers. Jones went 8-for-10 en route to 17 points along with seven steals and six assists, while Flowers went 9-for-15 to rack up 19 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Flowers has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Ya'Niyah Young was another key player, going 5-for-7 on her way to 11 points and six boards.

The victory was the tenth in a row for Northeast, bringing their record for this year to 26-2. As for Lourdes Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-11.

Looking ahead, Northeast will challenge Sebastian River at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeast knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Sebastian River likes a good challenge. Lourdes Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
