Basketball Recap: Booker T. Washington Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Leanna Carpenter and Antaniya Britt

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Booker T. Washington can now relate to. They fell just short of the University Tigers by a score of 49-47 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

Antaniya Britt and Leanna Carpenter certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Britt almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards, while Carpenter shot 54% from the field en route to 18 points and five rebounds. Britt is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Malia Johnson, who posted seven points and four steals.

Booker T. Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 16-13. As for University, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Booker T. Washington nor University have any future games scheduled.
