Recap: Lewis-Palmer Rangers vs. Pueblo East Eagles
The Lewis-Palmer Rangers posted their biggest victory since December 1, 2023 on Saturday. Everything went their way against Pueblo East as Lewis-Palmer made off with a 61-37 win. Given Lewis-Palmer's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Pueblo East is ranked 257th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lewis-Palmer was led to victory by Cohen Edmondson and Noah Johnson. Edmondson scored 16 points along with three steals, while Johnson scored 18 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Damarion Jelks, who scored four points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Pueblo East lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaden Garcia, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Ramon Venegas was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Lewis-Palmer's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Pueblo East, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Lewis-Palmer will head out on the road to take on Cheyenne Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cheyenne Mountain is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Pueblo East, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pueblo South at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pueblo South is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.5 points per game.
