Volleyball Recap: Austin Takes a Loss

Austin's tournament run continued when they took on West Salem on Saturday. The Packers fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1.

Austin started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-17, 15-7.

Isabella Bolser paced Austin's offense, picking up 12 kills. Bolser got some help from Sophie Kaercher and her 23 assists. Nora Sand controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for West Salem, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Austin has already played their next matchup (against Mankato East), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for West Salem, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Red Wing on the 20th.
