Volleyball Recap: Mourning Wins Going Away Against Booker T. Washington

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hialeah, Mourning was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Booker T. Washington Tornadoes 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-7, 25-16.

Diego Machuca was the offensive standout of the contest as he had seven digs and six aces. Those six aces gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Juan Clavijo, who had four aces.

They weren't the only good server: Mourning was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 22 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Mourning's record is now 8-11. As for Booker T. Washington, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Mourning has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Goleman on the 22nd. Hopefully Booker T. Washington paid attention to the Sharks' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Sharks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
