Basketball Recap: River City Believers Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bracken Christian, River City Believers Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Living Rock Academy Bobcat by a score of 39-31. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Soldiers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

River City Believers Academy was led to victory by Lukas Cox and Brennen McGuire. Cox almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine steals, while McGuire posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave Cox a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Kane, who had three points and three steals.

River City Believers Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Living Rock Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

River City Believers Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-24 loss against Heritage Christian on the 4th. As for Living Rock Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 36-18 defeat against Gateway Christian on the 4th.
