Southington faced Cheshire in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Blue Knights fell 4-0 to the Rams. The Blue Knights' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Southington saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reece Archer, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Archer has snagged this season.

Southington's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Cheshire, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-2.
