Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Buckeye Local

Buckeye Local proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Indian Creek Redskins 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Redskins back in August, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (105-96) Buckeye Local actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 11-25, 25-19, 27-25, 18-25, 15-11.

Brooke Kovalski paced Buckeye Local's offense, picking up 15 kills. Kovalski got some help from Samantha Westfall and her 19 assists. Karlie Glover and Jenna DelVecchio kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Indian Creek's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of TyLee Spencer, who had 14 digs and two aces, and Gabby Taylor, who had 16 assists and six digs. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

The victory (which was Buckeye Local's third in a row) raised their record to 5-7. As for Indian Creek, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Buckeye Local has already played their next contest (against Brooke), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Indian Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Beaver Local on the 15th.
