Softball Game Preview: East Wake Academy Eagles vs. Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs

The East Wake Academy Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Wake Academy is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

East Wake Academy came up short against Falls Lake on Monday, falling 9-3.

Wake Christian Academy let Franklin Academy stack five runs on them in the fourth inning on Monday but luckily Wake Christian Academy prevailed anyway. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Patriots 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since March 27th.

Ava Wulf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Claire Chandler was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Maddie Daniel was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and one double.

Wake Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

East Wake Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Wake Christian Academy, their record is now 7-8.

East Wake Academy couldn't quite get it done against Wake Christian Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2015 as they fell 16-13. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
