Basketball Recap: Juan Diego Catholic Comes Up Short

Juan Diego Catholic lost against Union back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle fell just short of the Union Cougars by a score of 37-35. The Soaring Eagle just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Despite the loss, Juan Diego Catholic still got an impressive performance from Ayen Kuath, who almost dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 11 rebounds, and nine blocks. That was a full 42.9% of Juan Diego Catholic's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ella Sebit, who earned six points and three steals.

Juan Diego Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Union, they moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Juan Diego Catholic will venture away from home to challenge Timpanogos at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Union, they will face off against North Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
