Basketball Recap: East College Prep Comes Up Short

East College Prep suffered their biggest defeat since February 9, 2024 on Saturday. They took a blow against the El Rancho Dons , falling 59-29. The match marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Adam Rivas was his usual excellent self, going 8 of 12 en route to 19 points and eight boards for El Rancho. The team also got some help courtesy of John Armstrong, who posted 12 points.

This is the second loss in a row for East College Prep and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for El Rancho, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

East College Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-40 win against ESAT on the 28th. As for El Rancho, they will square off against California at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. California knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully El Rancho likes a good challenge.
