Soccer Game Preview: Pelion vs. Strom Thurmond

The Pelion Panthers will take on the Strom Thurmond Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Pelion is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Saluda on Tuesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. Pelion haven't had much luck with Saluda recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Strom Thurmond had to endure a six-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They beat American Leadership Academy by a goal, winning 3-2.

Helder Hernandez Jimenez and Christopher Lopez Mange scored all three of Strom Thurmond's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

Strom Thurmond picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 4-7. As for Pelion, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Pelion beat Strom Thurmond by a goal when the teams last played back in March, winning 2-1. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
