Having struggled with four defeats in a row, San Diego turned things around against Crawford on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Colts.
Myah Rickman was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrea Murphy, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five stolen bases, and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. KeyonaMae Simmons was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
San Diego kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Morse and Coronado, and Morse kept the tradition alive. The Tigers came out on top against the Islanders by a score of 12-7 on Wednesday.
Hailey Truby and Abby Okita did most of the damage at the plate: Truby went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Okita got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs. Another player making a difference was Camryn Salvador, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI.
Morse is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for San Diego, their victory bumped their record up to 9-16.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. San Diego has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. However, it's not like Morse struggles in that department as they've averaged .469. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
