Basketball Recap: Wyler Fisher's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Morrill over Hemingford

It was a proper cat-fight when Morrill faced off against Hemingford on Tuesday. The Morrill Lions fell to the Hemingford Bobcats 44-39. The Lions' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Morrill's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wyler Fisher, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 41% of Morrill's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashwin Pittman, who had eight points in addition to seven blocks and five boards.

Morrill's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Hemingford, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Coming up, Morrill will face off against Bridgeport at 6:00 p.m. on February 21st. As for Hemingford, they will challenge Kimball at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
