Corvian Community proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 42) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They slipped by the Community School of Davidson Spartans 29-28. The victory was familiar territory for the Cardinals, who have now won six contests in a row.

Corvian Community found their leader in freshman Tyson Douglas-Brown, who threw for 215 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground.

Corvian Community's defense made their presence known, laying out Ty Sigler six times. It was truly a group effort as Trey Dukes III, Jesiah Fields, and Brock Spaulding picked up two apiece. Dukes III also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven.

Sigler and Sam Mack certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Sigler threw for 318 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt, while Mack picked up 88 receiving yards and one score.

Corvian Community's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Community School of Davidson, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-4.

Corvian Community didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 26-0 victory against Christ the King on the 24th. As for Community School of Davidson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 58-7 win against Langtree Charter Academy on the 24th.
