Softball Recap: Rosemount Takes a Loss

Rosemount had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 8-6 to make it four. They fell just short of the Eastview Lightning by a score of 5-4. The Irish were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lightning earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

As for Eastview, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games.

For Eastview's part, Elise Dormody spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits. Dormody has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eastview let Ryann Mushett and Molly Brown run wild. Mushett went 2-for-4 with one home run, while Brown went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most hits Brown has posted over her last eight games. Another player making a difference was Ava Ruyle, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Coming up, Rosemount is taking a road trip to square off against Prior Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
