Baseball Game Preview: Wallington Panthers vs. Garfield Boilermakers

Wallington is 0-5 against Garfield since May of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will head out to take on the Boilermakers at 4:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Wood-Ridge hit Wallington with a four-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers lost 14-1 to the Blue Devils.

Meanwhile, Garfield fell victim to Teaneck and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Highwaymen, falling 12-0.

Garfield's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Wallington, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Wallington might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Garfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
