Baseball Game Preview: Jesuit Marauders vs. Davis Sr. Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Jesuit will face off against Davis Sr.. The Marauders will challenge the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Jesuit took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Davis Sr. an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Marauders have won six games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Sammy Kane was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Jesuit is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-8 otherwise. Kane was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Kane wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Luke Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Sam Beck was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Jesuit hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.

Davis Sr. is on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17. As for Jesuit, they moved to 9-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
