Softball Recap: Pulaski County Cougars vs. Carroll County Cavaliers

Pulaski County won against Salem last Friday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Pulaski County Cougars were the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over the Carroll County Cavaliers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pulaski County.

Laken Greever spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in five consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Pulaski County got a big performance out of Victoria Hale, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Hale is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played. Sara Ritter was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Pulaski County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. As for Carroll County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-3.

Pulaski County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carroll County, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Radford at 6:15 p.m. Radford is coming into the contest with eight straight victories on the road, so Carroll County will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
