Basketball Recap: Polytechnic Parrots vs. Arlington Heights Yellowjackets
If Polytechnic was riding high fresh off their 68-28 takedown of Trimble Tech last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Polytechnic Parrots lost 75-49 to the Arlington Heights Yellowjackets on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Parrots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 75-43 back in December of 2024.
Da'Marcus Jones was his usual excellent self, going 6 of 10 en route to 15 points for Arlington Heights. The dominant performance also gave Jones a new career-high in field goal percentage (60%). Mitchell Carpenter was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.
Polytechnic's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Arlington Heights, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-12.
Polytechnic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-46 defeat against Wyatt on the 28th. As for Arlington Heights, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 82-35 win against South Hills on the 28th.
