Preview: Longview Christian vs. Heritage Christian Eagles
Longview Christian will be playing at home against the Heritage Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Longview Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
Even though Longview Christian has not done well against Trinity School of Texas recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Longview Christian blew past Trinity School of Texas 59-26 at home. The victory was just what Longview Christian needed coming off of a 68-27 loss in their prior matchup.
Longview Christian can attribute much of their success to Judah Sandel, who scored 12 points along with six steals and five assists, and Oscar Adame, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Sandel hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Marcus Cammack was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Heritage Christian, who are still winless after their fifth game. They took a 52-34 bruising from First Baptist on Friday. Heritage Christian has struggled against First Baptist recently, as their matchup on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Longview Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-8 record this season. As for Heritage Christian, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5.
