Baseball Recap: Watsonville Takes a Loss

Watsonville lost against San Lorenzo Valley back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wildcatz fell 6-3 to the Cougars. The Wildcatz have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rudy Valdez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Watsonville is 9-4 when Valdez posts two or more runs, but 0-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mathew Silva, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Watsonville's record now sits at 9-11. As for San Lorenzo Valley, their win ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-16.

Coming up, Watsonville will be playing in front of their home fans against Pajaro Valley at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for San Lorenzo Valley, they will head out to face off against Harbor at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
