Recap: Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles vs. Del Sol Dragons

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Durango, the Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They managed a 61-57 win over Del Sol. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Somerset Sky Pointe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emmitt Bell led the charge by scoring 21 points. The matchup was Bell's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kamerion Burdiss, who scored 14 points.

Del Sol lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Todd Fox, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Luis Lozano was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds and eight assists.

Even though they lost, Del Sol were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Somerset Sky Pointe only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

Somerset Sky Pointe's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Del Sol, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.

Somerset Sky Pointe is on the road again on Thursday and play against Clark at 6:00 p.m. on December 7th. Clark is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Del Sol, they will be playing at home against Shadow Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shadow Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Del Sol likes a good challenge.
